Yep, I'm (probably)the only pertson alive who still uses WordStar Professional Release 4.  (What's it been, 15+ years now?)  Also use Windows 98 and newer stuff, but HAD 2,000+ WS-4 files when I finally trashed the IBM XT, and still update one or more of them every day or two.  (Why?  Because going through translation programs invariably screw the columns up SPECTACULARLY -- and anyway, I LIKE WordStar, dammit....)
But I do wanna occasionally print stuff out on to my Canon BJC-2000.  Right now it can't be done -- no way, no how.
Anyone got ANY ideas what I need to get, do, pray to, sacrifice under a full moon -- WHATEVER -- to make my cheapy Canon printer print out WS-4 files?
Understand that I'm a REAL amateur at computer stuff.  (F'rinstance, a "printer driver" is a program, yes?  Not a piece of hardware?)
Thanks.  Large check to follow....

Canon printers use either the IBM printer commands or the Epson printer commands.  Try one of them.

Your other option is to use the WS4 clone, Write and Set (http.//www.writeandset.com)

If you have the user's manual that comes with Canon printers, there is a section on setting up MS-DOS application programs. I also have a Canon BJC printer, and it uses IBM Proprinter drivers for bubblejet mode and Epson LQ drivers for laser quality mode. The user's manual will also list other (earlier model) Canon printers with drivers that should work with your printer.
