I NEED HELP!!!

Just brough a new Lexmark printer, i set it all up correctly loaded well and everytime i go to print it comes up as "there is a problem with the printer" , can any1 help me please

See if you can print a test page while not connected to the computer. Then are you using dos or windows, usb or parallel ports. check the ports using device manager.

Make sure the cable is correct and well inserted.
make sure parallel ports are configured in the bios, and usb have up to date drivers. Check lexmark site and google groups for similar probs.
