Has anyone used the WordStar emulator with Word 2010 in Windows 7 (64-bit)? I've used it for years through WinME and XP, but will be upgrading to Win7 soon and would like to use the emulator. Also, any suggestions for the best key swapping program? I use TradeKeys now with XP and it works okay. I wonder how it will work in a 64-bit environment.
Many Thanks.
Hi,
The WordStar Emulator will still work with Word 2010 and Windows 7 64-bit. With Word 2007 and 2010 you won't get the menus though.
In the Emulator Support area of the site you'll find Updated installation notes (http://www.wordstar.org/index.php/wordstar-emulator/support/installation-a-control/173-install-the-wordstar-command-emulator-word-2007-and-2010) and The changed access to the registration screen (http://www.wordstar.org/index.php/wordstar-emulator/support/installation-a-control/183-enter-your-registered-user-details-word-2007-2010)
To swap the CTRL and CAPS keys I use the Registry edit method (http://www.wordstar.org/index.php/wordstar-emulator/support/wordstar-commands/swapping-ctrl-a-caps-lock-keys/170-windows-registry-edit-keymap).
Regards
Mike
