Can anyone suggest a source to find an old-style keyboard -- where the Control key is next to the letter A?. Some will have a switch on the back allowing you to reverse the control and caps lock.
I have been trying E-Bay, but no luck so far. I don't know if there is any good term for searching, other than "vintage". Thanks a lot.

I doubt though that this is that for which you are looking. The only thing which I could suggest is using a kernel toy to change the operating system setting.

Thanks very much for your ideas, Phil. I am checking to see if the unit you noticed might possibly be right. But the kernal toy sounds like a better long-term solution -- Do you have a suggestion on how I can begin learning to apply that for windows xp?
( General comments and thanks to this Site -- I do heavy report writing and have about 5-10 years until retire. This board has helped me enormously, because I learned to create high quality PDF files, and thereby avoided having to become proficient in the abhorrent Word. I will probably be facing problems later with printers or printer drivers -- this keyboard problem looks to be soluble. )

The old style keyboard you are looking generally has a large din plug/connector. Therefore you may have to use a adapter if wishing to connect to the smaller ps style used today.
These adapters are available both way (large to small or small to large), so be careful to obtain the correct one.
As I recall, the switch underneath was to change from XT to AT mode, and thus its presence will need to be checked as not so many k/bs had this.
To locate a keyboard, suggest:-
ebay/computing/vintage
Check every few days as many items are placed there.
Sort by 'time newly listed'
However you may have to buy the entire computer that goes with it, but costs are minimal.
