Title: Location of wdsupcnv.exe
Post by: rslheath on September 25, 2003, 11:54:28 PM
Hi All,

Microsoft no longer provides wdsupcnv.exe--the conversion pack for Word 95 & 97. It can be obtained from:

http://www.hellasystems.de/ftp/Updates/Microsoft/Software/Office97/Importfilter/

(Note that link to Microsoft given in the Conversion FAQ no longer works).

Hi,

Thanks for the link.

The one in the FAQ, for Office XP does still work, but Microsoft's servers sometimes don't respond quickly enough so you get an error. The link is:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/appndx/appa09.htm This will get you ALL of the filters available for the entire Office product range and is about 13Mb.

If you don't need all of that and just want to add the missing WordStar conversion to what's on your Office or Word CD, you need to look for the wdsupcnv.exe file from the Microsoft ftp site. This link in the FAQ also still works, and is:
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles/wdsupcnv.exe
